Kenzy

Makenzie Straub is a versatile musician from Philadelphia, with over 10 years of experience as both a bassist and vocalist. A passionate and dedicated artist, she has honed her craft across a variety of genres, from rock to funk to jazz. Active in the Philadelphia music scene, Makenzie regularly performs acoustically throughout Northeast Philly and North Wildwood, bringing her unique blend of musicianship and energy to local venues, as well as sharing the stage with the Anthony Gallucio Band.

Makenzie first got her start at the School of Rock Philadelphia, where she began performing live at the age of 13. Throughout her career, Makenzie has been recognized for her bass playing and vocals, earning seven All-Catholic honors across the Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Chorus (‘18-’20). She was also a proud member of the Drexel University Jazztet and Jazz Orchestra (‘20-’23), further solidifying her passion for jazz. She has recently graduated with Honors from Drexel’s Music Industry program

Re-entering the rock scene, Makenzie was a member of Frankford Fitler, WMMR 93.3’s Local Shot Aug’22 Dec’23. She then joined the Richie Baker Band before joining forces with Anthony Gallucio of Lecompt. Now, she is focusing on releasing her original music and creating a unique artist identity.
